New Banner + New Make Up

What can you say about my new banner? From minimalist to something colorful and girly. So far I am loving the pastel colors and cherry on top thing. :)  I am still not sure if I am going to change my blog's URL or what but as of know I might stick to sunkissedgirl.

Aside from the new banner, something came in the mail this week.

I know I am soooo late but who cares I've been waiting for these babies since God-knows-when.
I purchased the Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder from a friend. Hi Ate Erika, just in case you are reading this. :) (Check out her blog at erikaloca.wordpress.com) and the Revlon Nude foundation from Stuff N' Shop.

So far I am loving both but I promise myself to give it at least a week or two before I give my opinion. First impression? I am liking both but I expected more from Revlon Naked.

I'm still in the province for a short vacation and time away from the city.
The current condition of the Philippines is so heartbreaking.

Review: Celeteque Dermo Science + Acne Solutions Oil Control Toner

I always use Pond's product before but then I got curious about Celeteque so I switched to it from facial wash, moisturizer up to the toner.

I thought I am just really having break outs because of continuous lack of sleep and stressful school work but then when I switched to this product, I noticed that my pimples and other skin impurities became less visible until the time came that my face was already flawless.

I've been using this product since last year and this is my 5th bottle already. I am very satisfied with this product that I didn't even think of trying out other products nor going back to Pond's Toner.

I love the fact that it kas Aloe Vera and Chamomile extracts. Aloe Vera is known for its nutritional qualities and antioxidant properties. It also heals acne and fights aging. The Chamomile extract is known as an anti-confirmatory, anti-bacterial an anti-allergenic.

Sometimes it stings when I apply it near my eye area but I believe that is normal because it has ethyl alcohol. But when I apply it to my cheeks, forehead and other parts of my face, it just feels so refreshing and cool.

Since I used this product I noticed that my face wasn't that oily anymore, specially my t-zone area. I still notice some oiliness however only after long hours outside, when I am inside the house, malls or offices, my face doesn't oil up that much.

I am really amazed in the product. I can't pink point any cons. It is also very affordable for only Php 119.00 or roughly around $3 and available in drugstores nationwide.

The packaging is not a problem as well, even though it looks so medicine related. (What's the term for that? Lol) I mean there are times that I always look for a classy or cute packaging.

So far, I am really impressed with this product.

What is your current toner?
Have you tried using Celeteque Toner before?

Make Up By Toni Brushes

Hi everyone! I'm back for another review and this time I'm gonna share with you my thoughts and experience with my Make Up By Toni Flat Top Kabuki Brush and as well as the travel size tapered blending brush.

I forgot where I first saw Make Up by Toni Brushes but I am just so happy that I found it. A lot of bloggers are saying that this brand is the perfect dupe for Sigma and I am dying to have my own Sigma Brush Set but since I am still a student and I don't have $$$ to buy my own Sigma brush set, I tried to research and look for an alternative. Gladly, I was able to find one.

Make Up by Toni offers a brush set with 12 different types of brushes that are great for beginners, however I don't have enough courage to spend that much for a bush set yet so I settled for the flat top kabuki brush since I know that this brush is such a good investment and I will be using it every single day.

After few days of thinking whether I should buy it or not, I finally gave in and purchased my own Flat Top Kabuki brush from MUT. It costs me Php 500.00 or roughly around $ 13. I don't regret every single peso with this brush.

I love how it comes in a very nice packaging. (Refer to this post) The grey and pink combination of the box type container looks really stylish.

What I love about the product:
  • Has very soft bristles. When I say very, I really mean it.
  • A perfect Sigma dupe. (Well, according to my research.)
  • Bristles are very dense or compact.
  • The size of the handle is just perfect.
  • Doesn't shed or cast off.

What I don't like about the product:
  • Honesty, I had a bad experience about the handles. After few weeks of using it, the handle got separated from the brush itself. But it's not that bad, a few drops of liquid adhesive / rugby can do the trick. However, when I posted a picture of it on my Instagram. I tagged Ms. Toni and I let her know what happened to my brush. She was very sorry about what happened so she quickly asked for my details and she sent me a new one. I am not really expecting for that, just a simple sorry will do but she is just so nice to send me a new brush. After 2-3 days, I already received the package. She told me that I am the second one to experience the problem and she also told me that she will inform her manufacturer about the problem. But in spite of what happened, I am still happy with my brush. In fact the second brush that I got is perfect. I've been using it every single day but it is still in it's perfect condition until now. So technically, I can't think of anything that I don't like about the product.

L-R: New and Old Flat Top Kabuki Brush
Both of them looks the same even though I've been using the second one for 2 months already. I'm currently using the new one.

This is the tapered blending bush that I got for free from Make Up By Toni. Every time you order a flat top kabuki brush, you also get a free travel size tapered blending brush. I super love this blending brush and I am really really happy that Ms Toni gave me this. I've been using it every single day for my eye shadows, for nose when contouring and even highlighting my face.

Just like the Flat Top Kabuki brush, it has very soft bristles that picks up products very well. It is good for blending eye shadow along your crease as well as contouring your nose. I also use it to highlight my face and it really does a great job. It doesn't shed as well and it has the prefect size that I always prefer in brushes.

U-B: Old, New
I got these brushes for free and I am not sure how much it costs if you will but it separately or I am not even sure if you can but it separately. Lol

Anyway, if you have questions and suggestions about the brushes, you can always contact Ms. Toni. I swear, she is so nice and every approachable. She also responds to e-mails and messages quickly.

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Silk Cake Powder

I am finally back after few weeks of being MIA. I've been using this powder for more than a week already and here is the full review of this product.
Clear Smooth BB Silk Poreless White SPF21 PA (Clear Smooth BB Silk, Smart Enough White SPF21 PA) newest innovation Powder Foundation. BB Silk Essence technology merged to cover all the pores from the inside. There are now 12 hours long, smooth skin is smooth like silk. With the value of Korean Mulberry radiant glow to skin up to the second level and gentle on the skin. A touch of powder to a thin film. And it does not clog pores. Pores, thus reducing the long-term.(http://www.maybelline.co.th/face/powder/clear-smooth-bb-silk-poreless-white-spf21-pa.aspx)

I am quite not sure when did this product came out but I just saw it recently. It reminds me of the BB 2 way cake that I saw in Thailand last year which comes in a pink plastic packaging.

Packaging: I love how it comes in a purple packaging. It is something new for me since I always see Maybelline products in pink, blue or green color. The cover or front part is mirror-like or something like aluminum which I am not that fond of because it gets scratchy and although it looks elegant and classy, once it gets scratched it won't look good anymore. But it doesn't bother me at all.

It also comes with a sponge applicator and I love how it is separated with the product itself. It has a bottom compartment which I find more hygienic rather than their other face products where in the sponge applicator is kept with the face powder all through out.

Staying Power: This is my only concern about this product because it doesn't stay that long even though it claims a 12-hour staying power. I use it in the morning and after 3 hours, I can already see some oiliness in my t-zone area. I have't tried using it with any primer yet but I hope it lasts longer, like 6 hours to 8 hours without retouching. I am in a shade of 04 or honey and I apply the product using a large powder brush.

  • It gives a silky and pore-less finish.
  • It has SPF 21 PA+++
  • Blends well with my skin.
  • Not cake-y at all.
  • It has a light to medium coverage.
  • It does not oxidize / turns a shade darker after applying.
  • No funky or unwanted smell.
  • In expensive for a price of Php 329.00 or roughly around $8.

  • The only problem that I encountered is the staying power which I believe is caused by the heat around the Metro. However, I believe that if it will be used in the office, inside the mall or anywhere with air condition or less exposure to the sun, it will stay long enough.
I hope it comes with more shades since some of the shades are too light for Filipina skin.

Over all, I am giving this product 4/5. Even though I have concerns with the staying power, it is still good for everyday. It is very compact and fits in any kikay or make up kits. :)

This is the swatch of the product. As you can see it is not that visible since it blends well on my skin. (Taken with natural light)

My hand looks like it has no powder at all. It blends well and looks invisible. I am in a shade of Honey or 04.
